About Yaxin
Born in 1992 in China in the Zhejiang province, Yaxin Ji grew up in the small village of MaYu. In 2011, she began studying sociology at the University of Political Science in Beijing, but already devoted most of her time to her passion: drawing, painting and plastic art. Alongside her sociology courses, she followed training courses in drawing, painting and calligraphy at the TIMEART schools and the Chinese Academy of Arts. She deepened her knowledge of the works and techniques of Chinese landscaping, as well as flower and bird painting. These first experiences in China are at the origin of her interest in the expressive and poetic dimension of the flower, and continue to nourish her artistic imagination today.
2017: heading to Paris!
Stimulated and inspired by new encounters, she decided to embark on floral creation: an activity that combines craftsmanship and art, but also the living and the abstract. In 2018, she began training at the Paris florist school and obtained her Professional Certificate in 2020. She also participated in numerous training courses from the Master Florist Floos. During her apprenticeship, she worked and gained experience with major houses such as Christian Collin and Pascal Mutel (the creator of "Floral Design" in the 90s), and traveled to Europe to meet more "eccentric" floral artists such as Per Benjamin (Swedish), Alex Choi (Korean) and Max van de Sluis (Netherlands). She learned the rigor of working with flowers, as well as the choice of colors, but quickly felt the need to break away from the traditional techniques of French artisan florists. To find the freedom necessary to express her sensitivity, she decided to launch her own floral creation workshop in September 2020.
A unique style
All the floral creations of Atelier YaXin are the mark of a unique style: that of a Chinese artist based in Paris, at the confluence of Chinese culture and the modern Western world. Her project is ambitious: to transmit emotions by working the structure of true nature, that is to say flowers and plants. To achieve this, she draws inspiration from traditional Chinese aesthetics, and combines different talents in her creations: the manual work of flowers and objects, the practice of drawing, the play of colors and perfumes. All the products offered (including jewelry) are original creations by Yaxin Ji, carefully composed and worked by hand in her workshop in Paris.
